Hello? Who's this? Ohhh....YOU! I've been expecting your call. It's been a long time since we spoke.
Sorry, but I had to take that. It was Reality calling. We don't talk often, so sometimes we can go on for hours and hours. I know you know what I mean!
Vacation time is almost over. Jacob goes back to school tomorrow, and I return to work. Not so bad I suppose. It would have been worse if I'd have been in Florida or something, having to come back to cold AND work. Then again, it's not real cold right now. It's rather ugly outside, as it's been raining, and the snow is dirty and melting and you see mashed down brown grass. Blech!
Yesterday was nice. I stepped out in the morning and got myself a much needed new coat. Then I came home and put in a DVD or 4. Yup, I sat and watched 4 movies. I haven't watched a DVD in forever because my DVD player wasn't playing DVD's anymore (just CD's...go figure). But, I received a new one for Xmas from my little sis, so it was a marathon for me! I started off with The Notebook, moved on to Little Women, and then to Pride and Prejudice. I was on a roll, and about to watch either Message in a Bottle, or You've Got Mail, but the boy decided he wanted Mom time and demanded Ice Age. You'd think I was talking about a 4 year old, but no. He's 13. And a half. Anyways, it was fun and relaxing and just nice to be able to be next to my boy doing whatever we wanted (or DIDN'T want is more like it).
Normally I might not hold the time together so dear to me, but since Jacob is going back to his dad's for school, our extended time together is over. It's not like he's not coming back, of course, but it was nice to not have a schedule and to have him around so much the past week. And I have come to appreciate our time together so much.
What's THAT? Oh man, it's Reality again, but he's at my door, about to bust it down. Jake and I are going to sneak out the back door. Ta ta for now...
